This is a gorgeous Denby & Spinks Writing Bureau desk that would excentuate a mid century styled living or office home setting. Circa 1940s. The bureau drop front displays a wonderful walnut patination. When the bureau front is opened, the side brackets extend the two square supports underneath to hold the desk front. The drop front can be opened, exposing the gorgeous leather embossed writing desk. The interior has 5 pigeon holes, with a small central drawer finished with an orange handle, perfect for storing documents or books. There is the original Denby & Spinks plaque to the interior of the top drawer, aswell as a stamp to the backside (see photograph). The desk front comprises of a smaller upper drawer, and a larger lower graduating drawer. The drawers are all finished with matching circular metal drop handles. These drawers are great for storing linens, clothing or bedding. There is no key present for locking the drop front or drawers, but the original lock is present. Standing proudly on 4 solid, wonderful cabriole legs and pad feet This handsome Vintage Writing Bureau would make a statement in the home decor. Overall, this Writing Bureau is in great condition, with slight signs of use and veneer wear, as to be expected from years of historical use (see photographs).
