This is a beautiful Vintage Writing Bureau desk that would excentuate a period styled living or office home setting. Circa 1930s. The excellent fall front displays a intricate carved boarder, with a rich mahogany patination. The drop front can be opened, exposing the gorgeous red leather, floral embossed writing desk. The fall front to the Writing Bureau has extendable metal brackets, which pull out the square wooden supports to either sides, holding the fall front open to use the writing desk. There is a key present, which can keep the interior drop front locked for safe keeping. There is a second key that keeps the front chest drawers locked. The interior has 7 pigeon holes with two smaller drawers, sat above a horizontal pigeon hole, perfect for storing documents or books. The front has a smaller upper drawer, with two larger lower graduating drawers. The drawers are all finished with striking swan drop handles. These drawers are great for storing linens, clothing or bedding. Standing proudly on 4 solid wonderful cabriole legs, with ball and claw carved feet. This handsome mid-century Writing Bureau add a charming piece style to the home decor. Overall, this Writing Bureau is in great vintage condition, with minor signs of use and scratches, veneer wear to the wood, and general markings to the leather (as photographed). There is a small veneer wood damage to the bureau drop front (see photograph).
