Antique; 19th century, German, Black Forest, hand-carved, folding mantel shelf with a center fluted folding panel and two end carved bear folding panels. The two end panels fold out and the center panel folds up to support the end panels. The top is a hand-carved bears hiking mountain scene in relief. No maker's mark. Condition: Minor wear.
