Briccole A Murano

BRICCOLE A MURANO is a shelf made of briccola wood and Murano glass.‎Luisa Castiglioni describes her work, created for the project ‘Tra le Briccole di Venezia’:The briccole belong to the image of Venice as much as the waters of the lagoon.‎ In fact, from the waters of the canals rise three strange white wooden poles, leaning against one another, which for almost five hundred years have guided Venetians along the navigable routes.‎Their function is irreplaceable, yet the attentive eye of Riva 1920 also recognized that the material they are made of lends itself perfectly to being ‘reused’.‎
