Folding corner shelf made mid 19th-century Japan. Two quarter-round small shelves that attach to one side by hinges and fold up to transport and drop down to set pins on the opposing side to lock the shelves in their places. Shelves and sides are heavily painted in gilt landscape drawings of cottages by the shore with sailing boats. Mt. Fuji rising in the top portion. Size 24.5" tall by 9" deepest projection.
