A French carved and gilt wood shelf bracket from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique architectural wall ornament from France features a rectangular-shaped shelf top, which rests upon a concaved, trapezoidal shaped body below, with top and edging outlined with beautifully carved trim molding. Carved etchings of fleur-de-lys, shields, clovers and geometric shapes further enhance the body, and a bottom finial anchors the piece at the wall. The gilt finish has a nice patina throughout. This late 18th century French wall-mounted shelf bracket will provide a lovely display for a art or other decorative objects.
