A magnificent 19th Century antique and primitive side table. It's hand constructed from solid wood and painted in a deep rich green. We believe even the nails were hand forged, from what we can tell. Before moving any further, the table does sit solid but the years has caused it to loosen a touch; it does sway about half an inch when pushed from one side. That's why you see it leaning in the pictures. That being said it is, again, solid and can be used without any concern. We wanted to leave it as original as we found it and did not want to fool around by playing carpenter. That out of the way, this unique table is what we would categorize as a character piece. A collectable primitive that adds richness to any room, while is still utilitarian. Go ahead and slide out that lovely door with its unique hand carved knob to store something of yours in it. It will slide on visible tracks, which we love. Everything is right in front of you. This element alone is marvelous, in addition to everything else about this green table. From the naturally worn surface, to the nails, to the color, to the element of time and nature had on it. If we can only go back and find the history and tales it was involved with. Circa: 19th Century (or earlier) Condition: Consistent with age and wear and a bit of looseness Dimensions: 19 1/2" W x 15" D x 19" H
