Crafted in the Perigord region of France circa 1780, and built of walnut, the side table stands on thick turned legs ending with flat bun feet, embellished with an intricate bottom stretcher decorated with a central finial and side spike finials. The Louis XIII end table features a large single drawer across the front decorated with geometric motifs and dressed with an iron pull knob. The top embellished with carved edges around the perimeter, has a large writing surface. The occasional writing desk is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina.
