Styled by Evans & Powell - Paul’s work is often described as a fusion of art and craft, making his pieces both a functional object and a work of art, as is exemplified in this piece. This table is a hand welded base in loops often referred to as fish scales by collectors. The heavy slate top is 1.75” thick sits on top of a gold leafed band holding the loop sculpted base. A rare find - I believe it to be authentic but as most of this style were not marked, but identified for quality and craftsmanship. It is very common for Evans and Powell pieces from this early studio period to be unsigned or unmarked, as many were custom, made-to-order commissions.
