1960s Mid Century Cypress Root Side Table Live Edge Burl Tripod Stool George Nakashima Style Sculptural Organic Studio Craft
Chairish$1,100
This item is a mid-century studio-craft tripod side table or stool designed and manufactured circa 1960. No maker's mark or signature, the piece is attributed as in the style of George Nakashima, Alexandre Noll, or similar studio woodworkers active during the postwar organic modern movement. The table is constructed from a single solid block of old-growth cypress root wood supported by three tapered wooden dowel legs. Key design elements include a flat, polished top surface displaying concentric growth rings, a sharp contrast between the reddish-brown heartwood and pale sapwood on the underside, and a fluted, irregular live-edge profile that retains its original textured bark. The structure relies on traditional wedged through-tenon joinery to secure the legs directly into the organic base. Beautiful patina and soft rounded edges. Raw edge with natural fissures and organic detailing. Great condition for age - no loss or cracks to report - please see photos and video. Display ready piece within any mid century Danish or California modern collections. 19"H × 18"W × 18"D Please see photos and reach out with any questions. Check out our other design object listings.
