Table type H-259, or the popular “Spider”, was designed by Jindrich Halabala (master of Czechoslovak design) for UP Zavoda in Brno at the end of the 1930s. The table is an icon of Czechoslovak art deco style, but tall and slim legs made of beech wood resembling spider’s legs give it lightness characteristic of modernist furniture.
