This rustic artisan made side table hails from the Pyrenees on the French-Spanish border. It is constructed from local woods and still boasts original hand forged pulls. Called a "tocinera" in Spanish, it was originally used for laying out captured prey after the hunt. The curve of the plank at the back of the table reveals its hand hewn construction. The rough cut dovetails of the drawer and mortise and tenon joinery, hand made by the woodworker, are a testament to the quality construction of this table despite its humble origins.
