These logs are found preserved beneath the surface, undisturbed in an anaerobic acidic bog condition, in the fens of Cambridgeshire. This area within the United Kingdom was where entire forests fell due to flooding. With the drying of the soil, whole logs have risen back up. We have had samples from our supplier carbonated from 3000 to 5000 years old. As old as some of the first written words. This side table, made from solid brass and bog oak, has a unique and minimalist design inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian styles. The solid thousands-year-old bog oak is a natural material, varying in colour and grain. Not one of our designs will ever be the same due to this gradient of grain found within this material.
