Architect Gianfranco Frattini signed Gong, which was unveiled for the first time in 1987.Gong is a range of round metal tables of formal simplicity and clean lines, which are available in various sizes and heights, and can be used individually or in groups.Today the collection is enriched with more contemporary finishes and an elegant two-colour version.Top and standThe two metal disks of different widths, one for the base and the other for the slightly concave top, are joined by a hexagonal stand through small metal spools. The side tables are entirely painted in gunmetal or an orbital bronze finish. The stand is in brushed brass for the two-coloured version and sharply contrasts with the two finishes.Orbital bronze: hand-brushed handcrafted finish to create the “scratched” effect.The difference between the coffee tables of the same finish is characteristic of the manual processing that can be susceptible to variations in tone and homogeneity.Sizes: Ø27 H80; Ø43 H45; Ø43 H55; Ø55 H35Gianfranco Frattini was born in Padua in 1926. He graduated with a degree in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1953. Frattini opened his own professional practice in Milan, after having worked in the office of his teacher and mentor Gio Ponti. In 1956 he co-founded ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale – and throughout his career he practised both industrial design and architecture, focusing mostly on interiors. He was a board member of the Triennale di Milano.
