Here is a stunning carved wood side table with an octagonal shaped top and pedestal base. The table dates from the mid- 20th century and features amazing animal motifs, and floral and bird scenes throughout. Please look at the detailed photos of the top, with relief details that look like lace from afar, but when up close you can see branches full of leaves, elegant feathered birds around the skirt and at the top, dogs, monkeys, ( a rhino?), and birds surrounded in detailed foliage. At the base, the table is supported by three fantastic, furred, tailed animals which appear to be stylized lions found in many Anglo-Indian carvings. I love this piece and think it would be fantastic in an entry as a center table, as a side table or a petite breakfast table for 1 or 2.
