Aesthetic movement Japanoise accent table has bamboo legs. There are side braces with stick-and-ball detail and a shelf covered with tatami matting of tightly woven straw. The round top is dark brown leather with gold tooling, rimmed with bent bamboo. It is probably a replacement for the original top. MADE late 19th C, possibly in England. NO MARKINGS MEASUREMENTS 23.5" diameter x 29.5" tall. Good antique condition. The table is sturdy and stands evenly. There is wear on the leather top. The bamboo trim around the top has gaps and one end has lifted away, as shown. It also has wear. The tatami matting on the shelf is soiled with age. A portion of it has lifted up and there is a tear, as you can see in the photo. One bamboo leg has a split.
