A lovely marble topped gold leaf finished accent side table, perfect as a drinks table, made by E.J. Victor as part of their Newport Mansions Collection. This table was purchased new from E.J. Victor in the mid-1990s for display in our high-end Interior Design Furniture Showroom. There is no label but the base is marked with the date on which it was made. This table was never sold and it is in new condition. Any small scratches or nicks are consistent with age and its use as a furniture showroom display piece. The table features a wonderfully deep red wine-colored piece of Rosso Levanto marble on the top with substantial white veining and a modified ogee edge.. The base is in a gold leaf finish and features deep relief carving, including a central shell motif on the apron; the cabriolet legs are surmounted by an ovoid foliate motif and are adorned with a carved acanthus leaf at the knee. All in all, a wonderful and versatile little table that can serve a variety of purposes and lend just a touch of Newport glamour to any room. The dimensions are as follows: 15.75 wide x 15.75 deep x 27" high.
