English Faux-Bamboo Mahogany Accent Drinks Table With Porcelain Top, Circa Early-20th C
Chairish$2,850
A refined, relatively small, English faux-bamboo mahogany wood side accent table with porcelain top, Chinoiserie-Chippendale design period, circa late-19th century to early-20th century, England. Table features a Chinese export porcelain top decorated with colorful flowers and vases, finished with a blue edge. This table is a beautiful combination of Eastern design and the revival of Chippendale's chinoiserie in England. The porcelain insert is an oval-rectangular removable panel with rounded corners and pierced across tops surface (perhaps for the scent release of potpourri placed on the inside.) Base frame has a faux-bamboo design in mahogany or cherry wood. Tables' compact scale makes it ideal as a side/drinks table, plant stand, decorative accent table, etc. Underside of porcelain top shows the British Royal Coat of arms ("Dieu et Mon Droit"), along with hand-painted inventory number, as shown in last two images. - Crystal butterfly and glass shown in images for photo-op only.
