Its crisp, minimal geometry gives way to voids that feel neither accidental nor decorative, but elemental—openings shaped by imagined forces over an unspecified age. These cavities are not imposed; they are revealed, the result of a conceptual erosion rather than rupture.Clad in Katz Studio’s signature Velvet Chrome finish, this version elevates the form to a luminous, sculptural object. The soft metallic sheen shifts with the light, veiling the piece in a subtle radiance that contrasts sharply with the deep black gloss of its fissures. It is a play of absence and light, silence and reflection—an object both ancient and futuristic, as though excavated from some mythic archive of design.Made from hand-layered epoxy resin and fiberglass, each piece undergoes an intensive process of sanding, priming, lacquering, and polishing. The Velvet Chrome finish—developed in-house—requires multiple coats and curing stages to achieve its velvety depth, while the fissures are finished separately in high-gloss black for contrast. This is the most refined, labor-intensive expression of the Erosia series—one that transforms erosion into pure visual poetry.
