French Verdigris Guéridon Table With Greek Key ÉGlomisé Top, 1930s

Chairish

$4,800

An elegant study in French modern‑neoclassicism, this petite guéridon—attributed to Maison Ramsay and dating to the late Art Deco era, circa 1935‑45—balances sculptural presence with disarming lightness. Hand‑forged wrought‑iron legs, washed in a deep verdigris patina and traced with gilt, rise to cradle a circular églomisé glass top, reverse‑painted with a burnished gold Greek‑key meander. A swag of open rings dances beneath the apron, while a wavy X‑stretcher meets at a gilded sphere—recalling the wrought balustrades of Parisian hôtels particuliers and underscoring the workshop’s mastery of lyrical ironwork. The top remains remarkably intact, with only gentle wear to the gilt and patina—evidence of eight decades of graceful service. Place it beside a lounge chair as an elevated drinks table, layer it between club chairs, or let it anchor an art‑filled entry—the scale is versatile, the character unmistakable. Condition: Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The églomisé glass top shows light foxing throughout, most visible near the edges, consistent with its age. The wrought iron base retains its original verdigris and gilt finish, with a rich patina and minor surface wear throughout.
