Italian Bauhaus Style Stackable Chairs, 1980s

Chairish

$131

A continuously curved, high-gloss chrome-plated round tube forms the seat and backrest frames, with the characteristic open cutout between the seat and backrest. Four vertical round tube legs ensure stability, the front legs elegantly ending in the radius of the seat frame. The seat and backrest are upholstered and covered in black imitation leather; the backrest cushions are held in place at the sides by chrome-plated clamping strips with visible screws – a typical detail of italian contract and catering programs of the era. the chairs can be stacked high, making them ideal for dining areas, conferences, or catering. The combination of chrome and black gives them a pleasantly functional look – somewhere between bauhaus references and 80s minimalism. regarding the classification/manufacturer: the shape, material mix, and the screwed backrest strips clearly indicate italian mass production from the 1980s. similar models were offered by arrben, emmegi, lamm, and kusch & co. (german contract manufacturers with a similar design). condition: the chairs are structurally very good and stable. The chrome shows minor, age-appropriate signs of wear with light micro-scratches; the faux leather upholstery is clean, with small dents and minimal edge wear, but no cracks. The stacking function is flawless. Overall, a well-maintained, ready-to-use vintage condition with a subtle patina. dimensions: l40 x w43 x h80 cm seat height 47 cm
