Traditional Italian architecture meets contemporary design in the Loggia series. Designed by Matteo Leorato for Portego, Loggia re-interprets the age-old covered terrace of Italian houses and pallazzos as furniture. The designs are fresh as well as influenced by the clean lines of ancient Greco-Roman architecture. Similarly to traditional loggias, which often feature a series of supporting columns, these designs boast pillars reminiscent of architectural elements. To make the coffee tables and stools, the designer chose a traditional material: terrazzo. Here, the speckled marble and resin blend doesn’t pave the floors of a grand palace, but becomes a three dimensional object. The Portego Loggia series comes in dark and light color palettes.
