Ottoman Indoor Rudolf is an ottoman upholstered in fabric with a structure made of wood and aluminum.‎Following the successful launch of the Rudolph sofa collection two years ago, Serax and designer Vincent Van Duysen are now also bringing a Rudolph outdoor collection on the market.‎ The Rudolph outdoor sofa – with an identical look to the indoor version – is available as an armchair, two-seater or three-seater, with the option to combine with a Rudolph ottoman.‎ The sofa has a teak frame and weatherproof white cushions.‎ The pieces look natural and stylish and are incredibly comfortable.‎ Very Serax and very Vincent Van Duysen.‎After successful collaborations on tableware and outdoor furniture, Serax and Vincent Van Duysen join forces again to create a sofa collection representing the DNA of both institutions.‎ “I thought it would be a nice idea if we could translate a custom-made product I very often produce in my projects into an edition piece.‎ That’s how this collection started to take shape.‎” The name Rudolph was derived from Rudolf Michael Schindler, a major protagonist of mid-century American modernism.‎ “I admire him a lot.‎ The Mid-century style is very inspirational for my work; think of the typical built-in banquettes lining modern interiors.‎ But the most significant inspiration for this collection was the sofa I have in my home in Portugal because of its proportions, lines, and the serenity you feel when looking at it or sitting on it.‎” The Rudolph sofa comes in a freestanding version, in a two to three-seater size, and single-seaters, with side tables in wood and marble tops.‎ The freestanding side and centre tables complete the collection.‎ “I chose to work with solid black or cognac tinted wood and marble for their texture, warmth, and tactility.‎ All fabrics selected for this collection are custom made in Belgium and come in off white, beige, sand, smoke and bone color schemes.‎ “Rudolph is an organic and super comfortable sofa range as well as extremely versatile.‎ We are very happy with the final result, which is both very Serax and very Vincent Van Duysen.‎
