Designed by SUM furniture and genuinely handcrafted in England using traditional techniques from fine quartersawn English oak. Hand cut dovetail jointing details with turned oak upright pillar piercing through the sections. The tables are substantial and visually striking pieces of handmade furniture - built to last. Finished in durable natural oils. Some alternative designs and versions can be seen in the final images and are available in our listings/storefront.Custom dimensions are available upon request. We design bold and distinctive pieces of furniture – our main objective is combining the design alongside the natural beauty and properties of the raw materials. These timbers and materials are very carefully chosen for each specific design - maintaining our focus on the benefits, visual impact and strengths of what we use. Our regular use of English Quartersawn Oak is one case in point. It has been the beloved timber of fine furniture makers across the world for centuries. It is costly to produce but gives huge benefits and rewards such as its striking medullary rays and superb stability qualities. By utilising these wonderful and naturally occurring features with our contemporary designs we aim to continue creating some very distinct, tactile and idiosyncratic pieces. These are all completely handmade, in very small numbers, by our skilled craftspeople in England.
