He is a graduate of the MA Design Products course at the Royal College of Art in London (2003). His design office has won several iF Awards and the Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award in Product Design, he was named Belgian Designer of the Year in 2009 and he regularly works in education for institutions such as ECAL and ENSAV La Cambre. Willenz is a particularly inquisitive designer, immersed in the language of products and industrial process. His work spans various typologies and is often inspired by graphics, drawings and other 2D sources - his desire is to create elegant and clean designs that are both unfamiliar and familiar.
