Design & Form: It is cast from a real, organic tree trunk or root system to preserve the completely raw, rugged silhouette. It retains all the natural knots, deep fissures, bark textures, and hollows of the original wood.  Material & Finish: Unlike actual heavy timber, these are typically molded from heavy-duty composite resin or aluminum. This allows the intricate natural bark texturing to be perfectly captured before the piece is hand-finished in a brilliant, lustrous gold leaf coating.  The Top: The top surface is ground and polished completely flat to provide a stable, smooth tray surface for drinks, books, or sculptures, contrasting against the heavy texture of the sides.
