Inspired by the elegant pierced marble “jali” screens and windows he saw in the palaces of Mughal India, the renowned designer Paul Mathieu created a unique collection of hand carved side table. Solid blocks of marble are hollowed out and hand carved into low elegant tables through which light and air pass with ease. The intricate jali patterns are first traced onto the surface of the stone.
