Viennese 1900s small side table art nouveau , in walnut, restored and wax-polished. very elegant antique service table in the wienner werkstatte style in wax-polished solid wood measures cm: h 66, w 76, d 45. about wienner werkstatte the wiener werkstätte (engl.: vienna workshop), established in 1903 by koloman moser and josef hoffmann, was a production community of visual artists in vienna, austria bringing together architects, artists and designers working in ceramics, fashion, silver, furniture and the graphic arts.[1] it is regarded as a pioneer of modern design, and its influence can be seen in later styles such as bauhaus and art deco.[2] the wiener werkstatte succumbed to the trying times of the great depression, closing in 1932 and languishing in obscurity for some decades, until a revival of interest in the movement in the 1970's and 1980's, after which point fine examples began to fetch astonishing sums at major 20th century design auctions. The chair will most likely require professional packing. That said, it is not all that large or heavy, so shipping should not present a major challenge or expense. See the net for much more information on the wiener werkstatte and josef hoffmann. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
