The “Sid” chair comes from the structural steel series by Robert Wettstein. Some found materials were used in its manufacture, which lends the chair a special authenticity. The chair reflects the radical attitude that emerged among young designers in Germany and Switzerland in the 1980s. During this period, Robert Wettstein created a number of independent objects in his father's workshop, of which some have survived to this day. This unique piece was recently rediscovered in the cellar of his studio. The chair “Echo” and the lamp “Spunk” were later produced in a small series and presented together with the clothes rack “Herz” in the exhibition “Gefühlscollagen - Wohnen von Sinnen” in Düsseldorf in 1986. This furniture and objects are often attributed to the “German avant-garde”. The chair comes with a certificate of authenticity from the designer. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
