The unique beauty of urban walnut as a solid volume makes a statement as well as offering unique grain and stunning color to admire for hours.Sealed with a clear, low sheen danish oil finish, these wood cube side tables are great as coffee tables, side tables, occasional tables or bedside tables. They are sturdy enough to use as casual seating as well. There is no stain, so the color may vary. Heartwood and sapwood in walnut provide a range of colors. The urban wood features variations inherent to salvaged materials such as a rustic distressed finish, visible knots, hairline cracks and natural stains, which may result in hue variations, rubbed edges, or other antique-like characteristics, that are part of the rustic beauty of these side tables. If the finish cracks, you may see some raw wood underneath. Natural materials and will age over time and with exposure to the elements—the more exposure, the quicker they will age. Expansion and contraction due to temperature variability may occur. Urban wood has character. Walnut pieces may contain color variations ranging from deep brown to light yellow. There may be cracks or knots that we fill, patch or join in a considered and artful way at the makers discretion. We look at every slab and decide what needs a patch or epoxy or both. Case by case, one may be more effective and better for the furniture, aesthetically, structurally, and for our process. Please note: If a specific tool, like a patch, is not desired, please specify this when ordering. This may require procuring different lumber which can alter costs.
