Wide Swedish antique sideboard. This sideboard is a country house furniture from the gustavian period made in northern Sweden around 1790. The proportions and craftsmanship makes it very rare, the sideboard is unusually low and wide, measuring 90 cm to the table top and 185 cm wide. Made by hand in solid pine. Original paint with a rustic surface and visible distress after use. Three doors of which the outer doors have a hidden locking mechanism which is opened from inside the middle door. Working lock and key. Also note the well-crafted back with wide boards, due to rarity wider boards were more expensive and could only be afforded by some. Healthy and stable frame. Height to the table top is 90 cm and the trim and shelf around the back adds another 16 cm to the total height.
