Shanghai mid to late 1800's Qing dynasty sideboard cabinet. Jumu (Chinese elm wood) Dimensions 38" x 19" x 36" The doors are removable as is typical of Chinese furnishings of this type. "Cracked ice" lattice design on the bottom. Inside of doors contain the original lacquer. Antique Chinese furniture design incorporates floating panels that expand and contract with the weather, This is intentional as it prevents weather damage as the weather changes. There is no glue, nor nails used in the joints. The gaps that you see in the last photos are a consequence of this contraction when air is dry.
