Created in the style of Mongolian storage coffers, this early 20th-century herdsman's chest has a modern design of simple lines and rustic texture. Originally configured to open from the top, this chest was modified with front-facing doors by our carpenters skilled in traditional joinery. The interior has been updated with a single shelf for additional storage and is ideal today as a sideboard or credenza. Once painted with bright colors, the cabinet has been stripped to reveal the raw beauty of its pinewood construction, marked by traces of the original painted finish and textured by wabi-sabi patterns in the grain.
