Chairish$6,865
Elegant two-piece sideboard with upper display cabinet produced by Meroni & Fossati in Lissone, one of the most important historic centers of Italian furniture making and design. Located in the Brianza district, Lissone has been internationally recognized since the early 20th century for its high-quality cabinetmaking workshops and its contribution to the development of modern Italian design. This piece reflects that tradition, combining refined craftsmanship with rationalist aesthetics. The lower cabinet features a balanced and functional composition with lateral drawers, a central glazed sliding compartment, and lower storage enclosed by hinged doors. Original shaped brass handles and tapered block feet reinforce the sober modernist character typical of Italian production from the interwar period. The upper display unit, supported by solid uprights, is fitted with sliding glass doors decorated with engraved figurative motifs, designed for the presentation of glassware or collectibles. The proportions and architectural clarity of the ensemble are characteristic of the Brianza workshops active in Lissone during the 1930s and 1940s. Constructed in solid wood with fine veneers and a warm polished finish, the cabinet demonstrates the quality associated with Lissone’s renowned furniture district and the Meroni & Fossati production. Modular configuration The piece can be sold as a complete two-part cabinet or with the base only, which functions as an independent modernist sideboard.
