Oak Sideboard By Henning Kjærnulf For Nyrup Møbelfabrik, 1960s

Chairish

$6,059

This oak sideboard was designed by Henning Kjærnulf and produced by Nyrup Møbelfabrik in Denmark during the 1960s. Four panelled doors span the front, each fitted with diamond-shaped iron escutcheons and a working ornate key. The case sits on turned baluster legs joined by a wavy-profile stretcher, with a matching scalloped apron beneath the doors. Behind the doors, the interior offers adjustable shelving to either side and, at centre, a bank of four felt-lined sliding trays with shaped fronts and dovetailed drawer boxes. The oak shows an even, honey-toned finish with a slightly darker top surface, and construction throughout is clean and straightforward. An original retailer's label, marked Fa. Egon Nielsen, Fredericia, remains affixed to the interior. Substantial in scale, this sideboard, or credenza, combines restrained Danish cabinetmaking with genuine storage capacity. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
