Sideboard In Oiled Elm From Maison Regain, 1970s

Chairish

$3,965

Solid elm sideboard by Maison Regain, 1970. The front features three doors with horizontal and vertical wood joinery. The door handles are carved from the wood, and the top and sides are dovetailed. The interior conceals a wide shelf on the left and center, and a storage compartment with two drawers on the right. The doors close magnetically. A French manufacturer from the 1960s to the 1980s, Maison Regain embodied artisanal excellence. Rather than centralizing production in a soulless factory, the company had its pieces made in various workshops across France, ensuring they worked with the finest cabinetmakers in each specialty. While the brand took precedence over ego, one name deserves to be remembered: Roland Haeusler. He designed the majority of the architectural lines—massive yet so delicate—that characterize the Regain style. Good overall condition (minor signs of wear) Length 200 cm / Width 50 cm / Height 90 cm (You can find the matching straw-seated chairs and table from MAISON Regain on the website) I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
