This exceptional late Art Deco sideboard was created between 1938 and 1945 and was meticulously restored by Sinteins in approximately 65 hours. with its impressive width of 250.5 cm, spectacular mirrored burl veneer, and subtle petrol-colored accents, it combines historical elegance with a modern, artistic flair. The piece comes from a period when Art Deco produced its last great designs. Characteristic features include the softly rounded edges, the monumental base, and the almost symmetrical veneer pattern. The grain resembles an abstract landscape—almost alive—and changes its appearance with every angle of light. During the restoration, the sideboard was thoroughly cleaned, loose veneer was stabilized, and minor losses were carefully repaired. The body was sanded and rebuilt. The matte petrol-colored surfaces provide a contemporary contrast without obscuring the historical character. Delicate gold lines were applied by hand, echoing the elegant ornamentation of Art Deco. Finally, the surface received a wax treatment and was hand-polished, restoring the burl wood's exceptional depth and warmth. with an interior depth of 56 cm, generous compartments, and two drawers, this sideboard offers not only a striking presence but also considerable practicality.
