Martin Visser designed the BR02 in 1960 for Spectrum, the Dutch modernist furniture maker — and it has not left production for a single day since. That is not nostalgia. It is the natural outcome of a design with nothing to remove. The round tubular steel frame supports a form so resolved that sixty-five years of changing tastes have had nothing to correct. The strip-upholstery system allows the sofa to be reupholstered entirely, so the object outlasts the fabric. Now part of the Pastoe collection, the BR02 pairs with the BA02 Armrest.
