A wonderful piece of film history. This fresnel spotlight comes from the babelsberg film studios – one of the oldest film studios in the world. Until 1945, films were produced there by ufa (universum film ag) with stars like marlene dietrich and directors like fritz lang. From 1946 onwards, the film studios belonged to east germany (gdr), and legends like "three wishes for cinderella" were made there. After reunification, and continuing to this day, films are still being made in these venerable halls (inglourious basterds, etc.). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
