A highly detailed and charming polychrome statue of John the Baptist with a lamb, the figure of the saint clothed in a robe draped loosely around his figure. His left arm is outstretched and likely originally held a staff or cross. The lamb by his side is looking up towards his face. The composition is nicely arranged on a small plinth base. The statue is likely 19th c. and of Spanish Colonial origin.
