Brand: ClassiCon Model: Corker No. 3Design Herzog & de MeuronSustainably produced and flexible in use, Corker is a design object that feels at home in any living environment. Warm, grounding, stable and versatile, it is one of those universal pieces that simply look right wherever they are placed--whether used as an additional seat or as a side table.Corker is available in three sizes and plays with its nature not only in its name, but also in its form. The silhouette of a wine bottle cork served as the inspiration for the design. Through its direct and deliberately enlarged reference to an everyday object, Corker can almost be regarded as a Pop Art object. Its function and design are timeless, while its material quality is distinctly forward-looking.The cork used in the production of Corker comes from local, sustainably managed forestry in Portugal. The material is durable, renewable and one hundred percent recyclable. At the same time, cork lends the object its inviting, velvety haptics, making Corker a piece that appeals equally to sight and touch.Corker originated as part of the 2012 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London. The temporary summer pavilion was a collaborative project by Herzog & de Meuron together with Chinese artist, designer and architect Ai Weiwei, and the Corker design object formed an integral part of the overall concept.Stool or side table.Dark cork with impregnation, milled from a single block.Dimensions:Diameter: 47 cm × Height: 48 cm(Ø 18.5 in × H 18.9 in)
