19th century walnut stool from France. The seat is upholstered in old petit point with a landscape scene including a castle and manor house, including a forefront of fields and animals. The upholstery is tacked with decorative nail heads in the shape of gorgeous flowers. The frame of the stool is absolutely exquisite. The frame is supported on wonderfully shaped cross legs, which are hand carved and decorated with a touch of gild for added design interest and depth. The legs end in fabulous hand carved lion's paws. The legs are connected by a central hand turned stretcher, also with an added accent of gild, and on with end is an applied hand carved ion's head medallion. This stool is truly wonderful and would look fantastic in any home or office.
