A round stool in curved rattan and bamboo from the mid-20th century, designed by Francesco Albini. Albini was among the first to elevate humble, flexible materials such as rattan and cane, shaping them into avant-garde, geometric and elegant forms. The seat features a complex and fascinating structure of interwoven ring-shaped spokes, supported by straight legs connected by a reinforcing crossbar. Excellent vintage condition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
