Black Stool With Dark Wooden Seat From Rowac, 1940s

Chairish

$336

Black, unmarked industrial work stool by Rowac/Bemefa from the late 1940s. "ROWAC" was founded in 1888 by Robert Wagner as an ironworks; the name is derived from the first letters of the founder's first and middle names, along with the first letter of the city of Chemnitz in Saxony. Although Rowac produced a wide range of industrial furniture, including chairs, tables, toolboxes, and cabinets, the company was best known for its industrial stools, which have become vintage classics. The first Rowac stool was released in 1905, with three iron legs and a round wooden seat. This stool has been cleaned and waxed.
