Drenched in color, this ceramic garden drum is drip glazed in the manner of ancient Chinese sancai ware, cloaked in luminous shades of emerald green and amber. The brightly colored glaze streaks down the sides with irregular movement, finished with a glossy sheen and subtle iridescence. The stool is shaped to the traditional barrel form and patterned with raised dots along the top and bottom, imitating the boss-head nails used to stretch hide on an actual drum. The sides are perforated by two cutouts shaped as butterflies, symbols of joy and happiness.
