From our series inspired by the sturdy anatomy of horses and their role in Mexican culture, the cuaco stool celebrates the unexpected lush of horsehair by weaving it into a seat. The seat is handwoven by the Rodríguez Family in Tlajomulco, Jalisco. Its braided horsehair seat makes it highly resistant in daily use. Cuaco seats are available in brown, black and pinto (marbled black and white). Under request, we can also shorten the hair. The solid wood stool is turned in solid parota wood by the Ramírez Family in Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit. Parota wood is dark, and highly resistant to insects, some lighter veins or darker graining may occur: it's the beauty of the material.Note: the shade of the horsehair and density of the checkered pattern may slightly vary.No horses are harmed during the extraction of their hair.
