Dot Stool 3170 In Teak By Arne Jacobsen For Fritz Hansen, 1965

Chairish

$550

Arne Jacobsen co-developed the Dot stool with Danish furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen in the early 1950s. Like the 1952 Ant chair, Dot reflects Jacobsen’s vision of creating elegant, functional designs using modern industrial methods. It debuted in 1954 and was used in Rødovre Town Hall, a modernist building Jacobsen designed, inaugurated in 1956. Developed alongside the Ant chair which was launched in 1954, Dot shares its innovative focus on streamlined production and minimal use of materials, resulting in a delicate yet functional design. The original came with three legs, a fourth was added in the 1970s to enhance stability without compromising its minimalist appeal. Labelled and dated 07/1965. Seat in plywood with teak veneer in very nice state. Refreshed with hardening oil. Three-legged base with patina to the chrome, see photographs. Seating height 46cm. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
