Green Arch 01.1 Stool By Sam Goyvaerts For Barh.design

Arch 01.1 is a stool with a clear design language. What looks like a static element quickly becomes much more dynamic when in use by someone sitting on it. Inspired by daily architecture, the design of the arch object was not far away. With an interesting shape to start from, the functional aspect followed very naturally. Nevertheless, it was a challenge to design and produce the object in a way that would allow the user to sit with a high level of comfort, thanks to the concept of active seating. An issue we wanted to work with. How to design a daily object that stimulates active sitting in a way that the object itself is appealing in the eye of many and is an asset to the environment also when not in use. The iconic arch shape is what makes this object stands out. The unusual, still very approachable shape is what makes it recognizable. Not only it is a visual asset, but the arch also allows the object to become movable. Note: The stainless steel bottom plate (shown in the pictures) is optional. The prices quoted are for the seating object without the bottom plate. This stool is designed by Belgian designer Sam Goyvaerts, one of Barh's own.
