Created in 1957 by brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the Mezzadro stool is a true design icon. Its bold seat, inspired by a tractor saddle, is mounted on a base combining steel and wood, perfectly embodying the spirit of "ready-made". Included in the collections of the world's leading museums, such as MoMA, the Milan Triennale and the Vitra Design Museum, the Mezzadro stool adds a touch of timeless industrial design to any interior. The model exhibited in the gallery dates from the 1970s, as indicated by the signature under the foot, characteristic of the first editions. More recent editions bear a plaque, thus making it possible to differentiate the periods of production.
