Based on the concept of the ‘found object’ dear to the maestro in the latter part of his life, it was made for the children’s rooms at the Unité d’habitation of Nantes Rezé. This design piece makes use of simplified, minimal corner joints. The different sides, in open pore lacquered oak, feature two colors from the Le Corbusier palette. The hand-holes are un-rounded rectangular slots.TABOURET NANTES REZÈBIRCH PLYWOOD OAK VENEER. FINISH - MATT OPEN PORE LACQUER. His message is still being assimilated by an increasing number of people in the profession, but his eccentric avant-garde attitude should be properly taken into account for the use of rational systems in his planning method, as reflected in extremely simple modules and forms based on functional logic.About The Manufacturer:Established in 1927 by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda, Italy, Cassina launched industrial design in Italy in the 1950s, based on a totally innovative approach that marked the transition from artisan production to mass production.
